Another Pair of Dream Nikes September 29, 2007

Filed under: for my fellas, kicks & more kicks — flashyjazzy @ 11:53 pm

SBTG & Methamphibian present their ready to die operations: SKULLS OF SAIGON.

Two of the worlds biggest names in sneaker customization have decided to combine and draw inspiration and apply it to their sneakers in a much more tongue-in-cheek fashion.

You still have the dark elements of Methamphibian in there as well as SBTG’s trademark pattern work, but together it forms an energetic mix of colours and images.

But they don’t expect to stop there, planning on eventually expanding this as far as it can go. The first batch out the gate will be a set of Dunk High and Dunk Low.

The Dunk Highs are named “Psychoholic Slag” after the White Zombie song.

The lows are called “Pestilence.” The name is inspired by the Metallica song “The Four Horsemen.

They drop Tomorrow, Sept 30th and cost a whopping $650 (hence my calling them “dream” nikes)

UPDATE:  Check out Methamphibian (Store) for the Misfit Saigon Dunk Low… They still cost $600

This Guy… July 26, 2007

Filed under: for my fellas, kicks & more kicks — flashyjazzy @ 12:37 am

This Guy, Leroy Jenkins caught my eye with his fitted hats collaboration that he did with Estate LA (peep my post on it here). And he has teamed up with Royal Elastics for a second time to do a series of sneakers.

Leroy Jenkins, needs some women pieces in his life, because his prints are rich with detail and the floral prints are sooo in this summer for us ladies!!

But the wonderful people over @ Highsnobiety went to the United Tradeshow in NYC (July 23rd & 24th) and got a peek at the kicks collab and some coats from the Leroy Jenkins Fall/Winter ‘07 Preview. Note that the pics below are not the full line up of the Fall/Winter ‘07. I will keep my eye on the screen and look for more.

Peep the kicks & gear below:

These babies come in a few colors and they are limited to 100 pairs per each design. Along with the Leroy Jenkins & Royal Elastics brand logos, there will be a number embroidered on the shoe, I guess so you can know how special you are :)

Clothes x Comic Collaborations July 4, 2007

Filed under: for my fellas, toys — flashyjazzy @ 7:56 am

If you are a guy (or a girl) and you are into comics, you’re used to seeing the comic movie every now and then. But, lately there has been collaborations with clothing companies and comics to make some ‘one-of-a-kind’ pieces.
I must say that the concept is pretty dope, and I anticipate a lot more with the release of the Transformers Movie yesterday (July 3rd).
Check out what’s out there, hopefully, you can get your paws on something.

BAPE x DC Comics will feature four characters: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Flash. So far they have two Batman tees, one Superman tee, and one Flash tee. They haven’t mentioned anything about Wonder Woman yet :(
bape-dc-comics-1.jpgbape-dc-comics-2.jpgbape-dc-comics-6.jpg

I also came across Batman, Flash & Superman sweaters via Complex

There are no prices yet for the BAPE x DC Comic tees, there are soon to be released. But the sweaters will be released this Fall. The Superman and Flash sweaters will go for $351 and Batman will run you $439 (you guys should start your Christmas wish list a season early).

Then you have Medicom making Q-Pots, a car accessory for the very popular BearBricks ( a toy company- I’ll do a post to explain what ‘Toys’ are in the next coming weeks). The Q-Pot were given a significant introduction. They’ll be available as 3 different comic characters: Superman, The Joker, and Batman

Hasbro will be making an action figure of Stan Lee the creator of X-Men, Spider Man, The Hulk, and The Fanastic Four. the 84 yr old will be honored in a 6 inch Marvel (Legends) Comic figurine.

New Era released (Jun 23rd) a set of limited edition fitteds of superheroes, try to get your hands on one of these jokers, there were only 144 pieces per hero available
EDIT~~~
These caps are available at the NEW ERA London Flagship store. & The Joker Caps are already sold out!

Adding to the fitted collabs, a new emerging company, Pretas, used vintage fabric, with the Transformers on it ( maybe they used the Transformers Sheet Sets that every boy had back in the day) and hand cut the fabric so that no two hats are the same and that the Transformer is stitched perfectly on the hat. This hat is slated to drop in the Fall.

And finally an overseas brand, Bond Internationl, has chosen the most famous Marvel Comic Superheroes and paired them with Technics DJ’ing equipment. These tees are of course, limited edition and go for £25 or $34. The superheroes range from Spiderman vs Venom, Captain America, The Hulk, Panther, and Ghost Rider.

Happy Father’s Day June 17, 2007

Filed under: for my fellas — flashyjazzy @ 6:40 pm

I hope all the Dads out there enjoy today. In the words of my hubby ” Everyday is Father’s Day”. It’s a blessing when you are able to have children, you are given a chance to instill your morales and beliefs in them and also have someone to carry on your ‘legacy’.

This is my favorite Father’s Day Card

Every Man Needs A Fitted June 15, 2007

Filed under: for my fellas — flashyjazzy @ 4:55 pm

So, fellas…
You may want to thank me for stumbling across this site. (I like it!!!)
Strictly Fitteds is a site soley dedicated to… Fitted Caps.
I stumbled upon this site when I saw this lovely piece of art
lj_promo2.jpg

The patchwork pattern and the colors are what would make me go out and buy this hat.
The hat is made by Leroy Jenkins in collaboration with Estate LA.

Leroy Jenkins is a designer who has some cool t-shirts. On his website he has a slogan “He also is the originator of the floral print hoodies. Check out his myspace page too.

Estate LA is a fitted hat company. They have a few more collaborated hats with Leroy Jenkins.
leroywhite.jpgblackleroy.jpgimg_9355.jpg

I couldn’t tell ya how much these hats are going for, but you can check out where to buy Leroy Jenkins Ltd products from his website.

Strictly Fitteds was launched on Feb 14th, 2007. Being the only website of it’s kind, they are definitly giving guys something to be happy about. Offering up fitteds that are truly one-of-a-kind, you can be different from head to toe.

Nowadays most of the urban couture brands are collaborating with other brands and they are creating these sick-ass products. Whether it’s sneakers, jeans, t-shirts, or yes, fitted hats. Guys you can no longer get mad at your girl/ wife for being a shopaholic, because with the creations fellas have available, I don’t see how too many of you guys will be able to not spend your whole paycheck.

If you think you are saving by buying from a store that sells ‘fake’ New Era caps, think again. Get schooled by Strictly Fitteds in what is a knock-off fitted and why it’s not good to go the cheap route.

Urban Fashion is really staying true to their roots these days and with fitted hats looking like these or like others, you have no choice but to agreed.
